Apex custom inserter

Not all applications are standard – and yet Apex Automate specialise in producing customised solutions with standard machines.

This was the challange asked by Robert McBride, the UK’s leading supplier of private label household and personal care products for Europe’s largest and successful retailers.

The requirement was to automatically insert a newly designed dosing scoop, folded flat, into the top of a carton after powder filling but before closing. However, this required a vertical exit of 1800mm long complete with a high autonomy magazine of 2500mm. The machine was installed on a mezzanine above the vertical carton filling machine.

The system is fully integrated into the control of the filling machine and operates upto 100 cycles per minute on three carton sizes.
