Meypack Interpack success

    Posted in Meypack

The visitors to Meypack’s trade fair stand A30 in hall 14 at this year’s Interpack 2011 experienced not only a friendly and informative Team, but also a highly flexible system to pack products in wrap-around cases and in trays with or without film as well as just in film as pure multipacks.

Meypack has developed an innovative end-packaging machine able to process even more types of primary packaging and formats on one single machine, leading to a faster return on investment.

The continuous motion VP 501 SW 60 TM wrap-around case packer and shrink wrapper was designed for Ennstal Milch KG in Stainach, Austria. The machine packs round “CartoCans” made of coated cardboard. This concept can end-package products both in wrap-around cases as well as in trays with or without film. In addition, the machine can process pure multipacks, meaning that individual products pass through the packaging machine in either one lane or two and are then wrapped in film on the downstream shrink wrapper. When packing the cans as multipacks, the machine’s lower pressing chain splits apart. A motorised flat top chain conveyor moves upward automatically to the transport level. To enable easier opening of the film packs, the machine is equipped with an “Easy Open” perforation unit.

Meypack highlight maximum flexibility at Interpack

Increased flexibility, within packaging machinery manufacture, is a trend already well established, but demands are set to ever increase as markets require more different and varied secondary packaging.

Meypack at Interpack

Meypack embraced this philosophy some time ago and at this years Interpack exhibition in Duesseldorf-Germany, will be demonstrating one example. The VP501+SW60TM machine can pack products in wrap-around cases, in trays with or without film, and in film simply as multipacks.

Key features:

  • Packs CartoCans in wrap-around cases, in trays with or without film, and in film simply as multipacks
  • Individual products pass through the packaging machine in either one or two lanes and are then wrapped in film on the downstream shrink wrapper
  • Pressure-free, gentle and continuous lane dividing system distributes incoming singlefile cans into up to six lanes
  • Easier opening of multipack packs with an “Easy Open” motorised film perforation unit
  • Shrink tunnel with adjustable ventilation system and sliding side panel with integrated air outlets
  • Simple product and format changeovers without form parts
  • Space saving layout thanks to compact design and control panel mounted on the machine
  • Laterally positioned blank magazine
  • Packaging speed: depending on the product, up to 30 – 32 cycles/min.

Meypack exhibit at Drinktec exhibition

Trends in soft drinks are all about change and reinvention. The biggest challenge for companies in the soft drinks industry is to stand out from the competition and react as quickly as possible to the constantly changing market conditions and consumer requirements.

This statement not only reflects beverage companies as a whole, but alse the philosophy of our partner, Meypack Packaging Solutions.

In Hall A5 at Stand 345, Meypack will be displaying a VP 531, a high-speed wrap-around case packer for the Korean Hite-Jinro Group. The machine packs bottles filled with soju (a highly popular South Korean alcoholic beverage) in wrap-around cases. The protective partitions, specially designed for this application, are inserted between the bottles by three partition insertion systems. These partition insertion systems are completely new innovations for the South Korean market, where to date only single partition systems have been in use.
